Advanced Event Search & Filtering Options

The current event search is limited and doesn’t support the needs of runners looking for specific types of races. More advanced filtering would make it easier to discover the right events.

Feature Requests:

Search by region or state

Filter by course type (e.g., point-to-point, loop, lollipop)

Filter by elevation gain/loss

Filter by event size (e.g., average number of ultra finishers over past 5 years)

Filter by cutoff time (e.g., greater than 8 hours)

Add grid view and map view options for visual browsing

These improvements would significantly enhance the event discovery experience and help runners find events that align with their goals and preferences.

Yes, to ALL of this!!! I loathe having to use the search function because it is basically useless.

This would go hand in hand with my suggestion of having standardized information about races for comparison purposes.

Better Search + More Runner Data!

A real master list would be awesome. And yeah, some of us would absolutely scroll it for fun. Probably more than once.

Search would feel way more useful with smarter filters, using simple 1-5 scales that actually match how runners think:

Distance

Elevation gain

Base elevation

Trail difficulty (1 = smooth and runnable, 5 = loose rubble, crux moves, real exposure)

Technicality / obstacles

Access and logistics

That access filter could be huge. Something like:

Fly in, city race, hotels nearby, easy logistics, carry-on vibes

Fly + rental car, some driving, hotels and food options

Remote-ish but manageable - camping optional, hotels exist, no Uber

Full self-sufficiency, crew probably needed, flying means hauling gear

4x4 required, tent required, better as a road trip

Cocodona-level - borderline pro operation with serious support infrastructure

That kind of clarity makes it way easier to browse races and figure out what you’re actually signing up for.

On pricing, I’d personally be fine paying more if the experience keeps leveling up. Better tools, better data, better context around races all feel worth it.

The metrics you already show, like standings %, are super cool. I don’t spend tons of time there, but knowing it’s objective data is satisfying. Anything else you can track and display would be pure bonus content.

I don’t even see it as competing against other runners. Right now it’s basically the only clean graph of myself I can stare at. Give us a few more charts and we’ll keep registering on a steady cadence just to see the lines move. You already have a gold mine of self-generating content here. Leaning into that would seriously boost the runner experience and long-term loyalty.
