When I run a relay, the leaderboard shows the captain’s name instead of the team name. I get why — the timing app assigns the bib to the captain, so that’s what surfaces. But for participants, it doesn’t make sense. They signed up as a team. They want to see their team name on the board.
The fix seems straightforward: when an event is configured as a relay, pull the team name as the display identifier instead of the captain’s name. Team names are already collected at registration, so the data is there.
This would make relay leaderboards actually readable for participants and save me from fielding confused questions at the finish line.
