Add Nationality/ Origin

?

Please add a feature to capture a runners nationality (you capture residency but that isn’t enough). What is the case for this?

This will allow race directors to know when the First Person from a country has completed a race and or the runner will be able to view this. In this global world, many runners are nationals of one country but may reside in another eg myself, Stefanie Case, Ben Dhimen, etc and the user shouldn’t need to provide a fake residence in their country of origin when they live in another. Take this example of a female British runner who completed a race, the race mgmt might see her residence in the UK and think she is the first British runner to complete the race when in fact there might have been another British runner living in the US or HK, etc who completed it first. Without this data, the attribution of “first” might be mistakenly made and then this could be written in press and socials and in effect become fact once indexed in our connected data world.

This data should be an option to capture, display on race entrant lists and also long term consider it to be a filterable value.

This data helps media from diff countries interrogate participants eg in this case, if the runner thinks she’s first British finisher, and media in her country want to write an article, they would be able to take one of many steps to fact check.

This data helps races see more info on who is participating.

Take WSER live feed, they announce the first person from Turkey but it could be that it is a German who lives in Turkey which is inaccurate.
