On the Waitlist page, the following message appears:
“As spots become available, people on the waitlist will be selected. Selection will be based on their order on the list. Selected participants will be notified via email once you have been selected.”
This language implies that the waitlist is automatically processed in order, which is misleading. Many race directors, including our team, prefer to manually select participants from the waitlist regardless of position, based on criteria like participant history, event fit, or volunteer credits.
Feature Request:
Update the default messaging to clarify that selection is manual and not automatic or sequential
Optionally, make the messaging editable per event
This would better reflect actual RD workflows and reduce confusion for runners who assume the waitlist functions like a queue.
